Printer Cartridge Recycling Programs

Printer cartridge recycling programs are very easy and cost effective fund raisers.  No money comes out of our own pocket while we recycle something that others generally throw away, and we get paid for it!  We don't even pay for shipping.

Practically anyone can get involved and there is no selling of items that people might never really want to buy except that "Well, it's for a 'good cause....'" But it also spreads the very positive message and action of recycling.

We are currently using two different recycling programs for printer cartridges.
See below for details of both programs.

Recycling Printer Cartridges
is easy And
Rewarding!

YOU CAN
HELP!

Our first program is a cash payout program that was successfully used for the 1st grade class in 2005-2006.  We found this to be the easiest and simplest program to use as well as the highest paying, when it came to printer cartridges that have print heads.  Their turn around when it comes to inspection and payout is also great.  And on top of that, this company has now provided us with free, postage paid baggies that we can hand out to anyone, complete with our account number.  This way people can mail in their own cartridges without bringing them to school!  How easy is that!

However, this company only pays for cartridges that have a print head.  And that also means the baggie program is for the small cartridges with print heads only.

Cartridges with print heads are generally the kind used in small personal printers, like the kind you would use at home.  The print head itself looks somewhat like a computer chip.  Copier cartridges, large scale printers and Epson cartridges all do not have print heads and do not qualify for cash under this program.  However, we have found another option to pay us for those!

We receive a lot of donations for cartridges that do not have print heads.  This includes Epson, Cannon BCI and large cartridges from copiers and large scale office printers.

After a lot of research on recycling programs to find the best program to suit our needs (to recycle and get paid), we found a program that pays well for cartridges without print heads and who also happens to have an exclusive relationship with Epson.  Most companies do not pay for Epson at all, but this one does.  This means we can now earn $$ for any undamaged cartridge.

This organization also pays for cell phones and allows us the option of earning either cash or points towards classroom supplies and school equipment, as well as providing access to a few other very cool fundraising ideas.

For more information, to pick up postage-paid baggies, or to set up delivery of larger quantities of cartridges, contact the Printer Cartridge Fundraising Coordinator

POSTAGE PAID BAGGIES

We plan to pass out baggies at various Star Charter School
functions as well as with classroom newsletters.
But you can request more by contacting the coordinator above.

Some ideas to help make the
most of our baggies include:

Pass out the baggies in your neighborhood during
trick-or-treating!

Pass out baggies to friends and local businesses you know

Mail them to family members who don't live here
(they can help too!)

Keep them handy at home or the office

Come up with some more ideas
and we'll add them to the list!
